Moody Modern Mediterranean

Ruby Hill Country Club, Pleasanton, California

While our clients liked the footprint of their Mediterranean-style home, they knew a brighter, contemporary sensibility best suited their lifestyle. CHID felt strongly that the renovation and interior architecture should stay true to the bones of the home, and by paring back a bit of architectural detail, the refined lines of the structure began to shine. The design direction includes a through line of comfortable approachability grounded by the organic quality of European white oak floors and a monochromatic color palette of dark and light neutrals are present throughout. Layers add a unique vibe to each space — furnishings in a mix of sharp modern edges and soft silhouettes, modern custom millwork with thoughtful touches, and unexpected pops of visual interest from graphic wall coverings, stunning marble, and eye-catching light fixtures. The resulting space has changed the way our clients live in their home, lingering longer and enjoying more.
